P.I. Joy invested and co-founded a hotel development and management group. He was awarded the Licensee franchise from the Intercontinental Hotel Groups (IHG) to build and manage Holiday Inn Branded hotels in Alpharetta, Georgia. Investments sought as a result of a vision for the creation of Alpharetta that was created by its citizens over five years ago. The project was designed to bring energy and excitement back to Alpharetta (Forsyth County) and to attract other private investment in the area.

P.I.Joy led the company to become the first and only minority Indian owned & certified corporation to become an Atlanta Committee for Olympic Games in 1996 licensee for mass market distribution. He utilized innovative tools for productivity and did several changes in the processes which, dramatically enhanced productivity and quality of product. With his efforts, he doubled the annual revenue of each employee in just three quarters.

He also improved forecasting and implemented a build-to-order policy, which resulted in a 50% reduction in inventory and order backlog. He implemented fresh strategy for product development which resulted in 70% of the product sales. He also got involved in the different discussion groups of all employees, problem-solving, and several programs for employee recognition. Decided to tinker with customer satisfaction as a profit factor, and discovered that for every percentage point, we could increase customer satisfaction chain-wide, whereby we contributed $10.2 million to the bottom-line. Achieved a 4% increase in customer satisfaction with virtually no capital investment.

P.I. JOY was a founder of “BAND-AID” – a program to support UNICEF.
